Abstract:Objective To explore the guiding significance and research status of age, tumor size, histological and nuclear grade, axillary lymph nodes, hormone receptors, growth factor receptors, cell proliferation rate and other clinicopathological factors in invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast(IMPC). Methods With "IMPC" as a keyword to search literatures in PubMed and CNKI database for analysis. Results There was no correlation between the incidence of nodal metastasis and the tumor size, amount of IMPC component, coexistent pathological type and histological grade. The unique morphological characteristics and interstitial lymphocytic infiltration may be the cause for its high invasiveness. There was a higher rate of estrogen receptor(ER) positivity and human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2(HER2) overexpression in invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast, and ER positivity is a positive prognostic factor for patients with IMPC.Conclusions Understanding of IMPC which is a special subtype is superficial, but with the deepening of the study, diagnosis and treatment of invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast will be further improved.
