Abstract:Objective To determine the application potential of artificial intelligence (AI) eye-tracking 4K high-definition (HD) naked eye three-dimensional (3D) laparoscopy in radical gastrointestinal tumor surgery. Methods The clinical data of 30 patients with gastrointestinal tumors who underwent AI eye-tracking 4K HD naked eye 3D laparoscopic radical gastrointestinal tumor resection from July 2019 to March 2020 in the the First People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University were retrospectively analyzed. The patients included 16 males and 14 females, aged 38-77 years old. Seven cases had gastric cancer, 15 cases had colon cancer, and 8 cases had rectal cancer. We observed and recorded the relevant indicators of patients during the perioperative period (patient's operation time, number of lymphatic dissections, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative exhaust time, indwelling time of abdominal drainage catheter, hospital stay) and postoperative complications. Results The operation was successfully performed in all 30 patients. The operation times of patients with gastric cancer, colon cancer, and rectal cancer were (142.6±28), (390.9±20.5), and (117.4±27.1) min, respectively. The number of lymphatic dissections was (35.8±6.5), (30.8±4.5), and (25.2±6.3), respectively. The intraoperative bleeding was (105.8±33.3), (55.8±25.6), and (85.7±28.6) mL, respectively. The postoperative exhaust times were (2.5±2.1), (1.3±0.7), and (2.5±1.2) days, respectively. The indwelling times of abdominal drainage catheter were (4.3±0.7), (1.6±0.7), and (4.1±1.4) days, respectively. The hospital stay was (9.8±2.5), (7.6±1.2), and (8.7±1.9) days, respectively. All patients had no complications such as abdominal infection, bleeding, anastomotic leakage, and lymphatic fistula. Conclusions AI eye-tracking 4K HD naked eye 3D laparoscopy helps the surgeon complete the operation more accurately, safely, and comfortably. Thus, it is suitable for clinical gastrointestinal tumor treatment.
