Abstract:Objective To investigate the most common sites and the impact of survival prognosis for patients in the extrahepatic metastasis of liver cancer. Methods One hundred and thirty-two cases confirmed with HCC extrahepatic metastasis by PET/CT examination were collected in our department. These cases were retrospectively analyzed, univariate and multivariate survival analysis were conducted. Results The most common sites of HCC extrahepatic metastasis were lymph nodes (54.5%,72/132), bone (24.2%, 32/132) and lung (21.2%, 28/132), the univariate and multivariate survival analysis prompted to lymph node metastasis had a significant effect on survival prognosis (all P values<0.05), while other transfer locus and physiological indices had no significant effects (all P values>0.05).Conclusions Lymph node metastasis in HCC extrahepatic metastasis is the most common and can significantly affect patients survival prognosis. Early diagnosis and treatment of lymph node metastasis in patients will be able to improve the quality of survival and prolong the survival time.
