Abstract:Objective:To provide a scientific assessment and prediction method for femoral prosthesis implantation of total hip resurfacing arthroplasty through computer-aided simulation research. Methods:Original data were obtained from non-obvious hip lesions specimen through spiral CT scan and then transferred intoa computer workstation. After the 3D model of femur was reconstructed and calculated the center of femoral head and the centerline of femoral neck using Mimics10.01 software. We could find the axis of femoral neck, confirm the femoral prosthesis implantation channel and conduct implantation virtually, analyze based on 3-dimensional visualization finally.Results:The femoral prosthesis implantation channel passed the center of femoral head and located in the middle of femoral neck. Short stem-shaft angle had a litter valgus compared with preoperative neck-shaft angle after simulating implantation. The lateral and horizontal offset were small, So it met the requirement of expected location of implantation.Conclusions:This accurate and effective method covers the shortage of conventional hip resurfacing arthroplasty and can provide a scientific assessment and prediction approach to individual preoperative plan of total hip resurfacing arthroplasty.
