Abstract:Objective:To explore the morphology and structures and imaging sectional anatomy feature of articular ligament in temporomandibular joint by the cranium scans of CT and magnetic resonance imaging. Methods:60 asymptomatic volunteers were selected to perform examination of CT,MRI of temporomandibular joint and to observe the feature of imaging sectional anatomy of articular ligament in temporomandibular joint.Results:In CT images, the articular ligament in temporomandibular joint showed a sharp isodensity , the calcific articular ligament showed a sharp hyperdense structure. In MRI T1WI and T2WI, ligament pterygomandibulare,sphenomandibular ligament,stylomandibular ligament,temporomandibular ligament and mandibular mallei ligament showed hypointensity. The cortical bone in the T1WI and T2WI showed hypointensity sharply, the bone medulla in the T1WI and T2WI showed hyperintense sharply.Conclusions:The imaging sectional anatomy structures of articular ligament in temporomandibular joint can be identified perspicuously by CT and magnetic resonance imaging.
