Abstract:Objective To analyze the CT and MRI imaging materials of related lesions in the internal carotid artery-ophthalmic artery (ICA-OA) region in order to offer some assistance for clinical treatment. Methods The imaging materials of 194 cases finally diagnosed with related lesions of the ICA-OA region in our hospital were collected from June 2011 to December 2013 and related lesions were analyzed with the help of a digital workstation. Five-partition Method was used, as the axis of the ICA-OA, its surrounding regions were divided into five areas included orbital area, saddle area, temporal area (lateral), naso-antral area and cranio-orbital area, the materials were censused and the relationship between them were analyzed effectively. Results After rigid research and analysis, the incidence of various lesions was higherthan 5% in ICA-OA included 73 cases of pituitary adenomas (37.63%), 21 cases of aneurysms (10.82%), 18 cases of meningioma (9.28%), 15 cases of rathke cyst (7.73%), 13 cases of angiocavernoa (6.70%), 10 cases of optic nerve glioma (5.15%), 10 cases of craniopharyngioma (5.15%). Otherwise, the ICA-OA aneurysms were most likely to affect ICA-OA.Conclusions There are complicated structures in ICA-OA region. Furthermore, there is high incidence for various lesions in this region. The materials obtained by CT and MRI can provide reliable information for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
