Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical effect of minimally invasive stabilization system (Less Invasive Stabilization System LISS) on the treatment of complicated fracture of proximal end of tibia. Methods:From June 2009 to June 2011, LISS plate internal fixation was performed for the treatment of 29 cases(29 knee) with complex proximal tibial fractures, AO type: 7 cases of type B, 22 cases of type C; 2 cases combined with femoral shaft fractures, 1 case combined with distal end of tibia, postoperative follow-up in accordance with x-ray film image information and Kolment evaluation of curative effect evaluation of standards were conducted. Results:A follow-up study of 29 cases, time 7~16 month, an average of 6 months review x-ray film showed on a bit, on the lines of fracture, fracture healing, no fracture of steel plate and screws were loose, evaluation Kolment evaluation standards: excellent in 21 knee, good in 6 knee, ordinary in 2 knees, poor in 0 case, the excellent rate was 93.1%.Conclusions:LISS plate internal fixation in treatment of complicated fracture of proximal end of tibia has some advantages such as faster functional recovery, smaller wounds, less bleeding, less infection, reliable and fracture fixation, fracture and less soft tissue blood supply disturbance, which can reduce the occurrence of nonunion . The movements of knee joints and the ankle joints can start earlier, satisfaction of functional recovery can be achieved. The treatment of complex proximal tibial fractures by this method is one of safe and effective ways, which deserves further promotion in orthopaedic trauma.
