Abstract:Objective:To study the expression and significance of Livin protein and FHIT protein in cervical carcinoma. Methods:Immunohistochemical sp staining method was used to detect the expression of Livin protein and FHIT protein in 12 cases of normal cervical epithelium, and 56 cases of cervical carcinoma, combined with clinical pathology data for analysis. Results:The expression of Livin protein was apparently higher in cervical carcinoma than normal cervical epithelium, while the expression of FHIT protein was apparently lower in cervical carcinoma than normal cervical epithelium (P<0.05). In cervical carcinoma Livin protein positive expression rate along with the clinical stage, pathologic stage increased with the rise, lymphatic metastasis was higher than non-lymph node metastasis; FHIT protein positive expression dropped in company with the elevation of the clinical stage, pathologic stage increased, lymph metastasis was lower than non-lymph node metastasis, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Negative correlation was also found between Livin and FHIT protein expression in cervical carcinoma.(P<0.05).Conclusions:The abnormal expression of Livin protein and FHIT protein may play an important role in the development of the occurrence of cervical cancer. Joint detection of both expressions in cervical cancer provides theory basis in early diagnosis of cervical cancer, targeted therapy and prognosis judgment.
