Abstract:Objective:To explore the pathological stage, surgical methods and prognosis of gallbladder carcinoma. Methods:Retrospective study was used to analyze the clinical data of 59 postoperative patients with primary carcinoma of gallbladder from January 2002 to December 2012. According Nevin stage, the cases of stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ were 2,12,22,12,11.Kaplan-Meier method and the Log-Rank France are used for the relation between its staging, surgical methods and prognosis.Results:48 cases were followed up for 0.5 to 126 months of 59 cases. The average follow-up time was 20.4 months.48 cases of surgical treatment of gallbladder cancer overall median survival time of 35.6 months. The median survival time (months) of stages Ⅰ+Ⅱ, Ⅲ+Ⅳ, Ⅴ carcinoma of gallbladder were: 92.4,16.9,3.5. StagesⅠ+Ⅱand Ⅲ+Ⅳ had a higher survival rate than stage Ⅴ carcinoma of gallbladder . StagesⅠ+Ⅱhad a higher survival rate than stages Ⅲ+Ⅳcarcinoma of gallbladder (P<0.05) .The median survival time (months) of simple cholecystectomy group, radical resection group and palliative resection group were 45.8,45.8,3.6 . Simple cholecystectomy group and radical resection group had a higher survival rate than palliative resection group(P<0.05). But the survival rate had no statistically significant difference between the simple cholecystectomy group and radical resection group(P>0.05).Conclusions:Carcinoma of gallbladder with the earlier Nevin stages has the better prognosis. If we select the appropriate basis for staging procedure, both simple cholecystectomy and radical resection patients can have a long-term survival. Patients with simple cholecystectomy and radical resection have the better prognosis than patients with palliative surgery.
