Abstract:Objective:To explore a new simplified method to determine combined anteversion during total hip arthroplasty. Methods:From June 2010 to June 2011, 126 patients suffered from hip disease were treated with cementless total hip arthroplasty, and the method of flexion 45°was used to determine whether the combined anterversion was within the safe zone, and adjusted the cup anterversion according to the relationship of the edge of the femoral head and acetabular liner. Results:Using the method of flexion 45°during the operation, we found all of the combined anterversion of components were within the scope of safety which Dorr advanced, and the range of motion of the hip achieved D' Lima standand. Conclusions:During THA operation, implanting all of the trials first, adjusting the cup anterversion according to whether the edge of femoral head and the acetabular liner is parallel when the hip flex 45°, then testing the range of motion of the hip, implanting the components finally, can make the patients' hip achieve satisfied range of motion and have lowest dislocation rate.
